Public transportation options for every transfer — airports, city arrivals, inter-city legs, and day-to-day transit in each city.

Chapter One

🇸🇪 Sweden

Stockholm Arlanda → Uppsala

You land at ARN Terminal 5 at 7:20 PM after a long transatlantic day. The goal is to get to the Radisson Blu in Uppsala as quickly and simply as possible.

UL Bus 801 — Terminal 5 Direct to Uppsala

  • Exit Terminal 5, follow signs to Bus Gate D (ground level, outside arrivals)
  • Board Bus 801 (Uppsala Länstrafik) — direct to Uppsala Centralstation, no transfers
  • Journey time: 55–70 minutes depending on traffic
  • Pay by card on the bus or use the UL app (download ahead of time)
  • Runs every 15–20 minutes until late evening

Taxi or Bolt/Uber

  • Pre-book via Bolt or Uber app — significantly cheaper than rank taxis

Uppsala → Arlanda

Norwegian D84505 departs ARN Terminal 5 at 10:00 AM. Check out of the Radisson Blu by 11:00 AM — but you'll need to leave well before that for the flight.

UL Bus 801 — Uppsala to Terminal 5

  • Bus stop at Uppsala Centralstation, Bus Gate area
  • Depart by 6:50 AM to allow ~65 min journey plus terminal buffer
  • Direct to ARN Terminal 5 — no transfers
  • Fine option but earlier wake-up; train is more relaxed

Chapter Two & Three

🇩🇪 Germany

Berlin Brandenburg Airport → Hilton Berlin

Land at BER Terminal 1 at 11:35 AM. The Hilton Berlin is at Gendarmenmarkt — right in the center of the city. You will pass through Berlin Hbf (main station) on the way.

  • S45 or S9 from BER to Südkreuz, then S1 north to Brandenburger Tor or Hbf
  • Slightly slower and involves more connections — FEX is cleaner for arrival day with luggage

Bolt or Taxi from BER

  • Bolt and Uber both operate from BER — significantly cheaper than rank taxis
  • BER to Gendarmenmarkt: ~€40–55 depending on traffic

ICE 1507 arrives Munich Hbf at 15:43. The Hilton Munich City is at Rosenheimer Str. 15 — southeast of the center, near Rosenheimer Platz. Check-in is from 4:00 PM.

On foot from Hauptbahnhof

  • Straight southeast along Bayerstr → Schillerstr → Rosenheimer Str., about 20–25 minutes
  • A pleasant walk on a June afternoon if you're not carrying heavy luggage
  • Passes through nice Munich streets — good way to decompress after the train

Quick reference for getting around each city day-to-day. Buy the group/family day ticket each morning — it almost always pays off for four people.

🇸🇪 Sweden · Jun 6–8

Uppsala

  • Uppsala is walkable for almost everything — cathedral, university, river, old town are all within 15 min of the Radisson Blu
  • UL buses for Gamla Uppsala (ancient burial mounds, ~5 km north): Bus 2 from city center, ~15 min
  • Bikes are very popular and rentable — Uppsala is extremely flat

🇩🇪 Germany · Jun 8–12

Berlin

  • U-Bahn and S-Bahn cover everything. The Hilton is steps from Stadtmitte (U2/U6)
  • Key lines: U2 (east-west) · U6 (north-south) · S-Bahn ring for outer areas
  • Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag: walk from hotel (~20 min) or U55/U5 to Hbf
  • East Side Gallery: S3/S5/S7/S9 to Ostbahnhof or Warschauer Str.
  • Prenzlauer Berg (Food Tour): U2 to Eberswalder Str.

🇩🇪 Germany · Jun 12–16

Munich

  • Hilton Munich City is near Rosenheimer Platz (S-Bahn) — excellent access to everything
  • Marienplatz: S-Bahn from Rosenheimer Platz (3 stops) or U2 from Max-Weber-Platz
  • Dachau: S2 direction Petershausen → Dachau, then Bus 726/736 to KZ-Gedenkstätte (~40 min total) — Viator tour likely handles logistics
  • English Garden / Eisbach: Tram 17 or walk (~30 min) from hotel
  • Neuschwanstein: Private Viator tour handles transport from Munich

Stuttgart

  • Steigenberger is directly across from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof — no arrival transit needed

  • Mercedes-Benz Museum: U9 from Hauptbahnhof to Mercedesstraße (~15 min)
  • Porsche Museum: S6 from Hbf to Neuwirtshaus (~20 min)
  • Schloss Solitude + Vineyards: Bus 92 from Hbf or Zahnradbahn (rack railway) for vineyard hill
VVS day ticket: ~€7/person · Group: ~€18 (up to 5)

🇫🇷 France · Jun 18–21

Disneyland Paris

  • Everything is walking distance — Newport Bay Club, both parks, Disney Village, and the TGV station are all connected on foot within 10–15 min
  • No city transit needed within the resort
  • TGV station (Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy) is a 5-min walk from the hotel — arrive Jun 21 by 08:15 for 08:58 TGV departure
  • RER A connects the resort to central Paris in ~40 min (if you want a Paris day)
